It was in 1999 that Deutsche Telekom acquired the phone network One 2 One and in 2002, the name was changed to T-Mobile.

T-Mobile was the first UK network to introduce picture messaging to their users. In 2005 T-Mobile launched the first true broadband Wi-Fi service on trains on the London to Brighton line. Their pay monthly tariffs include Combi – which they describe as ‘the best combination of fixed minutes and texts’; Flext – which allows you to do pretty much everything with your phone including UK and international calls and texts, picture messages and loads more; And finally, Solo – this plan allows you to keep your phone and number while having the freedom of a 30 day rolling plan and get a large number of texts and calls.
